The Council on Aging van runs from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and provides low cost transportation to local hospitals, health care providers (doctors, dentists), pharmacies as well as banks, the post office and to the Senior Center. It also provides transportation to Stop & Shop in Acton and Shaw’s in Stow.
Adult Day Care
Adult day care centers provide social, medical and emotional support for those with Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia. They also afford the caregiver relief from exhausting responsibilities of caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Adult Day Centers provide a planned program that includes a variety of social and support services in a protective environment during day time hours.

CESI’s Acton Center provides adult day health services to seniors and adults with medical or cognitive challenges who reside in Acton and surrounding communities (including, but not limited to Ayer, Bedford, Boxborough, Burlington, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Harvard, Lexington, Lincoln, Littleton, Maynard, Stow, and Sudbury).

The Elder-Well® Adult Day Program is a non-medical Social Model adult day care. Our Adult Day Program provides a safe, supportive and stimulating alternative to an isolating day at home. We offer this unique program along with much needed support services to older adults with mild to moderate cognitive and/or physical needs and their caregivers. Our daily programs are hosted in welcoming, warm and safe atmospheres. These settings help to ease much of the stress and anxiety both our guests and their families experience while transitioning to a day program.
Advocacy
Advocates act on behalf of seniors on a particular issue. For example senior advocates could engage in action which could include writing letters, contacting political representatives, organizing community meeting and distributing educational materials on a particular issue on the seniors behalf

AARP is the web site for people over 50, whether retired or not. From health and travel to taxes and finances to computers and technology, there are topics for everyone at AARP. The site boasts a colorful, user-friendly interface with print large enough for people to read without squinting.

AARP Income Tax Preparation at Maynard Public Library
Get your taxes prepared for free at the Maynard Public Library as we host the AARP’s Tax-Aide program. AARP Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax preparation and assistance program.
It serves low and middle income taxpayers with special attention to those ages 60 and older.
